National Military Appreciation Month      (Holiday Events)
Ongoing Event, Ends 5/31/2008

Location: Pennyroyal Area Museum, 217 E Ninth St., Hopkinsville
On the Wall of Honor in our Pennyroyal Area Museum there are 147 pictures of just some of the many from our area who have served in one or more branches of our armed forces. There is also a booklet containing short biographies of these individuals. This number grows nearly every month.

Many of the pictured veterans are still living while a good number are now deceased. Some were killed in action. Some were captured and served as prisoners of war for months on end in enemy lands. All proudly served their country.

Almost everyone will find at least someone on the wall with whom they know or knew at sometime. The veteran may be a fellow worker, a neighbor, a fellow churchgoer, an old school mate, someone with whom you do business or anyone of many possibilities.

The museum is opened 8:30 until 4:30 Monday through Friday and 10:00 until 3:00 on Saturdays.
